A Niagara County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to trade guns on the Facebook Marketplace. Michael Lee, a 32-year-old resident of Burt, was arrested by New York State Police following an investigation into his online activities last week.

According to authorities, Lee posted an advertisement on the Facebook Marketplace seeking to trade firearms in exchange for a vehicle. The New York State Police became aware of the post and started an investigation. Troopers obtained a search warrant for Lee's residence and discovered four assault weapons and eight high-capacity magazines.

Lee has been charged with four counts of criminal possession of an assault weapon, criminal possession of a weapon, high-capacity magazine, and possession of a loaded firearm. It is against Facebook community guidelines to sell or trade firearms on the platform.
