As winter approaches, Kissing Bridge Ski Resort is undergoing a complete transformation under new ownership bringing renewed hope and excitement for its future. After facing several challenging years with inadequate skiing conditions, the resort's future was uncertain until Rhett McNulty acquired it for $1,060,000 in late October.
McNulty, originally from Southern California, was drawn to Kissing Bridge for its prime location near downtown Buffalo and Canada as well as its historical significance in Western New York. He recognizes the potential to breathe new life into the resort and maintain its cherished legacy within the community.
Since taking the helm, McNulty has made significant investments in snowmaking equipment and facility enhancements. The resort has expanded its snowmaking capabilities to cover around 22 runs, ensuring that skiers and snowboarders can enjoy high-quality snow and a diverse range of experiences.
Looking beyond winter sports, McNulty envisions Kissing Bridge as a year-round destination. This past summer marked the introduction of mountain biking and plans are in place to reintroduce tubing in the near future.
The enthusiasm surrounding the resort's revitalization is palpable among staff and community members. The manager has expressed excitement about the ongoing improvements and the commitment to preserving the essence of Kissing Bridge while enhancing its appeal.
As preparations for winter continue, McNulty is aware of the challenges that lie ahead but remains hopeful for community support. He emphasizes the need for patience as they work diligently to unlock the full potential of Kissing Bridge Ski Resort.
