Significant development is on the horizon in Wheatfield as a new manufacturing facility valued at over $40 million is set to be constructed. Spanning nearly 125,000 square feet, this facility will be operated by Saint-Gobain Ceramics through its subsidiary Saint-Gobain NorPro.
Once completed, the facility is anticipated to create 30 new full-time jobs in the region. Saint-Gobain specializes in producing catalyst carriers used in energy production, refining, biofuels, and chemical manufacturing.
The new facility will be located at 6600 Walmore Road and co-located with the existing Special Grains and Powders operations. This integration will allow for the repurposing of current structures, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions.
Construction is slated to commence later this year with the facility expected to be completed by 2028.
