Cheektowaga Police are actively searching for a migrant who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder of another migrant over a dispute involving a woman. As of Friday night, authorities have warned that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

The incident unfolded on Sunday, October 6th at the Quality Inn on Genesee Street where police responded to a report of a man bleeding from his head at the front desk. According to reports, the suspect arrived at the hotel, brandished a rifle at the victim, and pulled the trigger. The weapon misfired, which resulted in the suspect pistol-whipping the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim, whose identity is not being disclosed, is expected to recover. Following the incident, police learned that the suspect had been staying at another migrant housing facility located at the Red Roof Inn in Amherst.

Cheektowaga police were informed that both men involved had been removed from the local migrant housing program. Representatives from DocGo, the organization managing the housing program, confirmed they contacted law enforcement after the incident and ensured that both were no longer residing in local accommodations.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect's whereabouts to come forward.
