Niagara Falls Police responded to Rick Manning Drive around 7pm on August 3rd after a requested welfare check.
Upon arrival, the male stated that he did not want officers’ assistance and only wanted to be seen by an ambulance. The male was extremely irate and uncooperative. Police left.
Officers were advised by Niagara Falls dispatch that the male called again about 20 minutes later stating that “there’s been a shooting. . . there’s been a shooting.”
The male continued to call 911 at least 6 times in a 26-minute time frame and each time requested an ambulance. Officers arrived on scene again and asked the male if he falsely reported a shooting, which it was apparent he did.
Officers placed the male in handcuffs and then into a patrol vehicle. The male was then transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment before being taken to police headquarters to be booked and processed.
