Niagara Falls Police responded to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center around 4:45am on October 26th after reports of an assault with a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers observed the male victim receiving medical treatment from a large laceration across the left side of his neck, a laceration to his upper right chest, and a wound to the back of his head. He was covered in blood.
The victim was cognizant of the situation, but had been drinking all night and was heavily intoxicated.
He stated that sometime between 12:30am and 1:15am, as he was walking, he observed two males walk by and another ride by on a bike. As they passed, the male party on the bike stopped, turned around, and started an altercation.
During the altercation, the male suspect pulled out a box cutter, cut him multiple times, and took off running in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a short and stocky black male wearing all black.
The victim could not give an explanation as to why someone would start an altercation with him. However, he did admit this was likely due to how intoxicated he was.
After the male suspect fled, the victim stated he could tell he was bleeding a lot and walked to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
The Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene. There are no known suspects. No further information is available at this time.
