
A tragic motorcycle accident in Pendleton claimed the life of a Medina man on Thursday, as confirmed by the New York State Police. The incident occurred at the intersection of South Transit Road and Tonawanda Creek Road shortly after 1:45pm.
According to the police investigation, 51-year-old Vincent J. Hawkins was operating a motorcycle when it collided with a car. The collision took place when a 2018 Honda traveling northbound on South Transit Road entered the median and attempted to make a left turn onto Tonawanda Creek Road without yielding the right of way.
As a result of the collision, Hawkins was forcefully ejected from his motorcycle. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene and Hawkins was swiftly transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for treatment. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical professionals Hawkins succumbed to severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
