Man Charged with Sexually Harassing Minor Victim Online for Four Years

A 32-year-old man from Tonawanda has been arrested and charged after allegedly sexually harassing a minor victim online for four years, including sending her explicit videos of himself.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Trevor Knapp met the 13-year-old victim online in 2020. During their interactions, it is alleged that Knapp repeatedly asked her to send naked photos of herself. Although she declined his requests, the victim reportedly video chatted with him while getting out of the shower, during which Knapp would take screenshots of her naked.

He is also accused of sending sexually explicit videos of himself. Knapp utilized multiple online platforms to contact the victim. Despite the victim's efforts to block and delete him, officials claim that Knapp created new accounts to continue reaching out to her.

Knapp knew the age of the victim and persisted anyway. When she mentioned having a boyfriend, Knapp allegedly responded by asking for images of her and her boyfriend engaging in sexual activity.

In April 2024, the victim reported Knapp's behavior to the Arizona Police Department. After an investigation, a search warrant was executed at Knapp’s residence on October 10th where a preliminary examination of his cell phone revealed a sexually explicit video involving both Knapp and the victim.

Knapp has been charged with distribution and possession of child pornography. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
