The Buffalo Police Department announced today that a 26-year-old man has been arrested on charges of public lewdness, burglary, harassment, and trespassing after exposing himself to multiple individuals and performing a sexual act on a 62-year-old woman. This arrest comes less than three weeks after the same individual was arrested for indecent exposure on W. Delavan and Elmwood.
The suspect, identified as Orlando Martinez, allegedly approached a 62-year-old woman on June 15th and offered to help her up the stairs to her apartment on Delaware Ave. However, instead of providing assistance, Martinez reportedly pushed the woman into her door and engaged in a "sexual act." Following the incident, he quickly fled the building.
Martinez was apprehended by law enforcement on June 20th and has been charged with third-degree burglary, public lewdness, second-degree harassment, and trespassing.
This recent arrest follows a previous incident involving Martinez. On May 31st, he was arrested and charged with two counts of public lewdness after two separate incidents of indecent exposure on the evening of May 28th. At that time, he was released on an appearance ticket.
The Buffalo Police Department is urging anyone with additional information or potential witnesses to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. Martinez is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court to face the charges against him.
