A Buffalo man wanted for a murder in North Carolina has been apprehended and charged after an alleged fight, according to the Buffalo Police Department. The arrest took place on Saturday evening when officers responded to a call regarding a disturbance on Huntington Avenue.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Craig Lynch, was found to have active warrants for murder, attempted murder, and robbery in Wilmington, North Carolina. At approximately 6:30pm, Buffalo police officers arrived at the scene in response to multiple 911 calls reporting an altercation involving a possible assault, a firearm, and potential stabbing.
Upon their arrival, officers encountered a hostile and confrontational male who attempted to impede the investigation. Further investigation revealed that Lynch was wanted in connection with the North Carolina murder. Authorities confirmed the active warrants for Lynch's arrest.
In light of the charges, Lynch was charged locally with one count of obstruction of governmental administration. He is currently being held at the Erie County Holding Center awaiting extradition to North Carolina to face the more serious charges. No further information is available at this time.
