Male Slaps License Plate he 'Found on side of the road' Onto Vehicle, Doesn't Make it Very Far

Niagara Falls Police were engaged in routine patrol around 5:30pm on August 29th on the 500 block of 17th Street when officers observed a 1988 GMC Sierra driving southbound. Police ran the plate which came back to a 2003 Grey Toyota Camry.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the male driver who admitted to knowing that the car had an incorrect plate. In fact, the male admitted that he “found the plate on the road and just tried to use it.” He didn't think it would be a problem.

The male further said that he was attempting to drive it until he had the ability to get it “street legal” since he “just recently bought” it. Overall, the vehicle had switched plates, no front plate, was not inspected, uninsured, unregistered and the address on his license was incorrect.

The vehicle was towed and the male issued 6 traffic tickets. No further information is available at this time.
