Niagara Falls Police were assisting Niagara County Probation for probationer checks around 9:30pm on August 30th at an apartment on the 8700 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard that resulted in multiple arrests.
Upon arrival, two probation officers made contact with the male probationer and entered his apartment. Shortly thereafter, one of the probation officers returned and stated there was a female located in the apartment who was “hiding under the bed.” They obtained an identity from the female that was determined to be fake after running it through IMPACT.
An NFPD officer entered the apartment and made contact with the male probationer and the female. He asked the female why she provided false information to the probationer officers at which time she admitted giving the fake name because she was "scared." She then provided her real name.
The NFPD officer checked for warrants and/or order of protection. It was confirmed that there was a full stay away order of protection issued and served out of Niagara County Court. The OOP ordered the male probationer to stay away from the female.
The male probationer was placed under arrest. Once in handcuffs, he started yelling how the female “followed him” to his apartment, that she wanted to be there and there was nothing he could do about it.
The female, and protected party on the order of protection, was also placed under arrest for providing a false identity to Niagara County Probation. Both individuals were transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. No further information is available at this time.
