Male Damages $1,530 Worth of Flags at Niagara Falls Veteran's Memorial

Niagara Falls Police responded to the Veteran’s Memorial on May 30th around 9:00am after reports of a male destroying flags.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the complainant who stated that he was sitting at the Memorial on Robbins Drive and observed a male walking through the rows of American flags damaging each one. After he damaged the flags and flag poles, he left the area.


Officers then spoke to a worker for the Department of Public Works who stated the male did not have permission to damage the American flags or flag poles. In total, the male damaged 18 flags and poles which are valued at $1,530. He wished to press charges on behalf of the City of Niagara Falls.

Officers apprehended the male who was trespassed from all parks owned by the City of Niagara Falls.
