Male Covered in Blood, Female Terrified and a Suspect Taken Into Custody -- No Answers on What Happened


Niagara Falls Police responded to the 6000 block of Devlin Avenue around 11:45am on August 9th after reports of an active assault with a weapon.


Upon arrival, officers observed a black male (male #1) in a bloodied white t-shirt waving his arms around and running towards the patrol vehicle. He appeared disoriented and out of breath, exclaiming that the suspect was in the backyard with his girlfriend.



Officers observed a white female in the southern corner of a fenced in backyard who was crying and appeared to be very frightened. However, they also observed another black male (male #2) wearing a United States flag shirt in the backyard. Officers placed him in handcuffs and searched him for weapons with negative results.


An additional half-dozen law enforcement personal arrived on scene to assist in the investigation.


Officers observed a small laceration on male #2’s face in addition to a large-skinned area on the back of his head. Niagara Falls Fire arrived and treated his wounds. He did not wish to go to a hospital for treatment.



While the investigation was continuing, a white 2006 Saturn arrived on scene. Both individuals who exited the vehicle were detained by officers and interviewed.


Officers were advised to transported male #2 to police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. No further information is available at this time - Male Covered in Blood, Female Terrified and a Suspect Taken Into Custody -- No Answers on What Happened.
