Lockport Man Charged with Concealing Human Corpse

A Lockport man has been charged with concealing a human corpse in connection with the apparent homicide of a man whose body was discovered in March in the Town of Alabama, according to an announcement made by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office on Friday.

The accused, identified as 45-year-old Norman DuBois, also known as "Bud," allegedly conspired with other individuals to conceal the body of 59-year-old Michael Poole of Olcott. Poole's lifeless body was found on March 19 in Alabama, following a missing person investigation initiated by the Niagara County authorities.

In a separate development, on April 19th, a Lockport woman was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Poole's death. The investigation led to the discovery of DuBois' involvement in the case, resulting in the following charges being filed against him: concealment of a human corpse, fifth-degree conspiracy, hinder prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence.

DuBois was arraigned on June 28th and subsequently released under the supervision of Genesee Justice. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 16th to face the charges brought against him.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Michael Poole's death. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information related to the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is working diligently to ensure justice is served and to provide closure to the family and loved ones of Michael Poole. Further updates on this case will be provided as more information becomes available.
