Lewiston Man Arrested After Crashing into Home while Drugged Out


A Lewiston man was taken into custody on a charge of driving while impaired after crashing his vehicle into a house on Kenwood Drive early Tuesday morning, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.



Authorities received a 911 call shortly after 8:40am reporting that a vehicle had collided with a residence on the 400 block of Kenwood Drive. The driver, identified as 57-year-old John Jourdain, was operating his vehicle on North Fifth Street when it veered off the road, crossed into the southbound lane, and entered a yard. The vehicle struck several trees, a fence, and ultimately the house before coming to a stop.



There were no reported injuries to the occupants of the home or to Jourdain himself. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and received multiple traffic violation citations. Jourdain was held at the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility until arraignment. He was then released.
