Letchworth State Park -"Grand Canyon of the East"

Letchworth State Park is renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East" in the eastern part of the U.S. Throughout this state park, the Genesee River roars over three major waterfalls between cliffs, with some as high as 600 feet tall!


Surrounded by lush forests, hikers can choose between 66 miles of hiking trails. There are specific trails dedicated to horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing.

What else does Letchworth State Park offer?

This park also offers other activities such as nature, history and performing arts programs, guided walks and tours, white water rafting, kayaking, a pool for swimming, and hot air ballooning in the summer!


Throughout the winter, Letchworth has activities such as snow tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.


Where can we stay at Letchworth State Park?

The Glen Iris Inn is a historically restored inn, that provides overnight accommodations. They also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to the public!


Who can we contact if were bringing a group?

Please contact the Humphrey Nature Center. They offer year-round education opportunities that provide hands-on exhibits that show the parks geology, wildlife, and ecology. This is perfect for school groups, scouts and youth organizations!


How much does it cost to enter Letchworth State Park?

There is a $10 entrance fee required if you are entering the park between the hours of 9am-5pm (cash & credit card accepted).

Fees are charged from May - October.
