On May 26th, 2024 at 1600 hours, Deputy Ross observed a vehicle traveling on Military Road. The vehicle made abrupt lane changes multiple times while failing to signal.

During the course of the subsequent Traffic Stop, Deputy Ross observed signs of drug impairment from the operator, a 20-year- old-male from the City of Niagara Falls. There was a 1-year-old child and an 8-month-old child in the vehicle, both in improper child restraints. As the result of the investigation, the male was arrested for Driving while Impaired by Drugs. He was transported to NCSO where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

In addition to DWI-Drugs, the male was charged with: Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – Leandra’s Law (Felony), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misdemeanor), and multiple VTL violations which include: improper child restraint, improper turn signal, and moving from lane unsafely.

The two infant children were turned over to a family member in Niagara Falls after the Leandra's Law arrest of their father. The male was remanded to the Niagara County Jail where he will be held for Centralized Arraignment.
