LaSalle Waterfront Park Bathroom Destroyed - Can Niagara Falls Have Nice Things?

Niagara Falls Police responded to LaSalle Waterfront Park on Buffalo Avenue around 6:00pm on May 26th after reports that the men’s restroom was being destroyed by three juveniles.

Upon arrival, the caller was not on location and yielded negative results on a call back. Officers approached the men’s restroom located near the entrance to the waterfront trail and noticed a gutter downspout wedged underneath the door. After entering the restroom, officers observed total destruction of public property.

Water was throughout the bathroom, two sinks were damaged with a large rock that was still sitting in the right sink, the left urinal was damaged, and the toilet(s) were clogged by debris and gutter materials. As mentioned prior, the outside gutter downspout was removed from the side of the building and dented. The estimated total of all repairs is believed to be in excess of $1,500.00. DPW was notified of the incident.

Caller notes indicate three suspects that fled on bicycles. No further information is available at this time.
