Niagara Falls Police responded to the 600 block alleyway between 23rd/24th Street around 12:40am on July 7th after reports of fireworks blowing up a recycling bin with fireworks.
Upon arrival, police observed a City of Niagara Falls recycling bin “completely disintegrated” with remnants of firework debris surrounding it. Due to the heat of the fire it did partially melt another recycling bin nearby.
At this time it is unknown which residences the bins belong to. It is likely that juveniles set off fireworks int he recycling bin which resulted in its destruction. Niagara Falls Fire responded to put the remaining remnants of the fire out. No further information is available.
