A juvenile was injured during an assault on Welch Avenue on Monday evening, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department. The incident occurred on the 2700 block of Welch Avenue and authorities responded to a reported stabbing at approximately 5:10pm.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a juvenile with a laceration across the abdomen. Immediate medical attention was provided and the injured juvenile was transported to Children's Hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The suspect, also a juvenile, was identified and located at a different location.
Juvenile detectives have taken over the investigation and are working diligently to gather more information and determine the circumstances surrounding the assault. The Niagara Falls Police Department is urging anyone with additional information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
