During the Buffalo Bills' Week 10 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, QB Josh Allen made history by tying Hall of Fame running back O.J. Simpson for second place in the franchise's all-time rushing touchdowns. Allen scored on a 13-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, which marked the 57th rushing score of his career.
The feat came at a crucial time as the Bills were looking to regain momentum after the Colts had scored 13 consecutive points. Allen's touchdown not only put the Bills back in the lead but also showcased his 'Superman' ability. Despite a less-than-ideal first half where he completed 13 of 23 passes for 188 yards and threw an interception, Allen's rushing touchdown was a highlight that helped the team enter halftime with a 20-13 lead.
With this latest score, Allen now trails only Thurman Thomas in the Bills' record books for rushing touchdowns. Thomas, a former NFL MVP and Hall of Famer, holds the franchise record with 65 rushing touchdowns. Given Allen's current trajectory, it seems likely that he will surpass Thomas by the end of the 2025 season (barring any injuries).
Additionally, Allen's touchdown run also brought him closer to another franchise milestone. He is now just two total touchdowns behind long-time Bills quarterback Jim Kelly for the all-time lead in that category. Allen sits at 242 while Kelly is at 244.
