The city government of Niagara Falls, USA, is set to record a fourth consecutive year of budget surpluses.
City Controller Daniel Morello told members of the City Council at a recent meeting that the city’s primary revenue sources saw about a 7% increase in 2023 from 2022. The city’s share of county sales tax and HRU (hotel, restaurant, utility) sales tax revenue saw an approximate increase of $2.9 million from the projected budget. Although these revenue figures are not yet audited and might change slightly, Morello anticipates a budget surplus for 2023.
