A 5th Home Invasion in Two Weeks has Residents Asking if Niagara Falls has a Burglary Problem

Fifth Home Invasion in Two Weeks After Suspect Enters through Window

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2700 block of Grand Avenue around 10:00pm on August 25th after reports of a home invasion. This would mark the fifth home invasion reported to NFPD in the last two weeks, all of which can be read below.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated that her purse was missing from inside her home. She explained to officers that her bed was currently in the living room due to it not fitting upstairs. The burglary took place while she was asleep in the living room with her boyfriend.

Both the complainant and her boyfriend told officers that they went to bed around 11:45pm and fell asleep around 1am. Her purse was on the dresser which is located directly next to her bed. When she woke up in the morning, the purse was gone. Overall, the purse contained her medication, NYS identification, cash and other misc. items.

The complainant said it wasn’t until about 7pm that she discovered the window on the side of the house was open. The screen door was lifted up, which is never like that due to there being multiple cats in the home that would escape.

She further told police that there was an unfinished gallon of milk lying by the fence line, which had been moved. Detectives arrived to process the scene and collect evidence. There are no suspects. No further information is available at this time.

This comes on the heels of four other home invasion reports over the past two weeks in Niagara Falls. The links to each report can be found below:
