Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1700 block of Pierce Avenue around 10:00pm on June 12th after reports of gunshots in a residential neighborhood.
Upon arrival, police located several shotgun wads along with spent shotgun shells scattered in the front yard of a residence. Officers also observed a Chrysler Town and Country minivan parked in the front yard which appeared to have been struck several times by gunfire.
Police then spoke with the resident whose home was directly in front of the crime scene and whose minivan was struck by gunfire. The individual stated that approx. fifteen individuals gathered in front of her residence arguing loudly. This included obscene language, threats, and yelling. She was not involved in this dispute and was observing from her residence.
Five minutes later she heard what sounded like four gunshots coming from her front yard at which time she ran to the rear of her residence fearing for her safety.
When she looked outside her front window, she observed the group dispersing from the area on foot and unknown vehicles. It was not immediately apparent if anyone was injured.
Both the front driver and passenger windows of the vehicle were shattered with damage estimated at $500.
