Starring Christopher Reeves and Margot Kidder, Superman II was filmed in Niagara Falls back in 1979.
One of the most important scenes in the movie was a child falling into the water above the Horseshoe Falls and being saved by Superman. Fret not though, a real boy was not used for the stunt! Rather, a dummy doll was thrown over the railing to appear as though a boy was moving closer to the brink of the Horseshoe Falls and Niagara River below.
