Although he has only been with the Buffalo Bills for a short time, rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman has already made a significant impact on the team's fanbase. His entertaining introductory press conference, where he shared shopping tips and enjoyed Wegmans chocolate chip cookies, quickly endeared him to Western New Yorkers. They affectionately nicknamed him Keon 'Cookie Monster' Coleman, creating merchandise and even replacing him on a mural of former Bills wideout Stefon Diggs.
While Coleman recognizes that he has made a strong first impression on Bills fans, he may not fully grasp just how much they have embraced him. This became evident when he arrived at his locker before the team's rookie minicamp practice and found a large box waiting for him. Inside the package was a generous supply of Chips Ahoy! cookies, sent to him by a fan.
When asked what the most surprising or shocking thing has been since being drafted, 'Cookie Monster' Coleman did not disappoint.
"The most shocking? I had a box of Chips Ahoy! cookies at my locker," Coleman shared with the media after Friday's minicamp practice. "Receiving mail from fans is great, but the Chips Ahoy! cookies confused me. I didn't understand it at first. I thought I was imagining things. But that was it."
Understandably, the 20-year-old was taken aback by the unexpected gesture. Will he eat them? 'Cookie Monster' Coleman left no doubt about that.
"I do enjoy eating them, but I definitely wasn't expecting cookies at my locker. They were in a big box, and I was like, 'What could this possibly be?' When I opened it, I was surprised. It caught me off guard."
