U.S. investigators have announced the arrests of two individuals in connection with the murder of Niagara Falls resident Randy Fader, 29-year-old, who was fatally shot in April 2024. The investigation, which uncovered an extensive drug trafficking operation, has also resulted in a warrant for the arrest of former Olympic snowboarder Ryan James Wedding who remains at large.
Fader was shot and succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at a hospital. The murder led to a collaborative investigation by the FBI, Niagara Regional Police, and other law enforcement agencies. Andrew Clark and Malik Cunningham have already been arrested in connection with the murder, but the search continues for Wedding who is wanted on multiple charges including (1) running a criminal enterprise, (2) murder, and (3) conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Wedding, originally from Thunder Bay, ON, represented Canada in the 2002 Winter Olympics competing in the men’s parallel giant slalom event. His involvement in this case has raised eyebrows.
The FBI has placed a $50,000 reward for information leading to Wedding's arrest and extradition. According to authorities, Wedding's criminal organization was responsible for transporting large shipments of cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and California, then into Canada using semi-trucks.
Wedding was previously convicted in the U.S. for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and served time in prison in 2010. The FBI announced that the investigation has already led to the arrest of a dozen other individuals across Florida, Michigan, Colombia, and Mexico.
Law enforcement has seized significant quantities of cocaine, weapons, ammunition, cash, and over $3 million in cryptocurrency as part of the investigation. Anyone with information regarding Weddings' whereabouts should contact local law enforcement.
