A woman from the Town of Tonawanda filed a lawsuit against former Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds alleging that he knowingly transmitted the herpes simplex virus type 2 to her. The plaintiff, who has chosen to remain anonymous, claims in her legal filing that Moulds was aware, or should have been aware, of his sexually transmitted infection and failed to disclose this information prior to their intimate relationship.
According to the lawsuit, the situation escalated when Moulds’ pregnant fiancée reached out to the woman, advising her to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. The plaintiff also reported discovering through social media that other women had made similar claims against Moulds regarding STD transmission.
The Plaintiff described her motivation for filing the lawsuit in an interview with the Buffalo News, stating she wanted to protect other women from experiencing what she described as Moulds’ predatory behavior.
Eric Moulds’ attorney, Frank LoTempio III, responded to the allegations, asserting that the claims in the lawsuit are untrue. He mentioned that he had been contacted by the woman’s attorney, Kevin Stocker, but noted that Moulds had not yet been formally served with the lawsuit.
The lawsuit details that Moulds first reached out to the woman via Instagram in 2018 and their communication continued sporadically until January 2023 when they began a long-term romantic relationship. The complaint alleges that Moulds financed the woman’s trips to visit him in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he resides. Their last sexual encounter reportedly took place in November 2023.
In December 2023, after having sexual relations exclusively with Moulds, the woman began experiencing symptoms and subsequently tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2.
