Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1600 block of 100th Street around 8pm on November 1st after reports of a burglary.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated that earlier in the day at approx. 3am she was woken from her sleep when she heard the side door of her home rattling. The complainant thought it might have been her husband coming home, but when she got up and looked out of the window it was an unknown male trying to gain entry to her home.
She then yelled at the male and told him to leave her property. The male responded, "I need to get my backpack” and then entered the complainant's vehicle that was parked in the driveway and retrieved a backpack.
The complainant stated that that her husband returned home and noticed that the male entered their garage and was drinking drinks from their fridge. It was also discovered that he rummaged through their garbage. The male stole a tire thumper from her vehicle which is valued at $20.
The complainant described the suspect as a white male with scruffy facial hair with a light-colored wash cloth on the top of his head. There are no known suspects. No further information is available.
