A female motorcycle operator was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) after crashing her three-wheeled motorcycle on Walmore Road in Sanborn, NY. The incident occurred on July 6, 2024.
At approximately 6:50 p.m., emergency services including the Lewiston Police, Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Sanborn Fire Company, and Tri-Community Ambulance were dispatched to the 5900 block of Walmore Road, near the S-curve, in response to reports of a motorcycle crash. It was reported that the operator had sustained injuries.
Upon arrival, Mercy Flight was requested to the scene and promptly responded. The helicopter landed in the parking lot of Niagara Wheatfield High School. The injured woman was transported from the crash site to the helicopter by ambulance. She was then transferred to the helicopter and flown to ECMC for further medical treatment.
According to preliminary investigations, the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Walmore Road when it veered off the roadway and collided with a tree and brush along the roadside. The exact cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
