Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1100 block of 22nd Street around 4:30am on June 30th after reports of a female, likely under the influence of drugs or alcohol, driving a vehicle into a parked car and utility pole.
Upon arrival, officers saw a female walking away from the vehicle. She informed officers that she was driving the vehicle and it belonged to one of her friends. During officers’ investigation, the female became very irate and argumentative leading to her being detained.
Officers spoke with surrounding neighbors who stated they heard one loud bang and, upon looking out their window, saw one black male and one black female get out of the car and attempt to walk away. The male, however, was picked up prior to officers arrival and could not be identified.
The female stated she was traveling on 22nd Street when an unknown vehicle swerved towards her resulting in her veering off the road and striking a parked car and then a utility pole.
AMR was requested to transport the female to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for any treatment required. Once there, she consented to a blood draw and urine sample. While interacting with officers, she had an extremely hard time sitting or standing upright.
The female was issued appearance tickets returnable at Niagara Falls City Court. No further information is available.
