Father and Son Charged with Attempted Murder After Shooting

A father and son have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection to a South Buffalo shooting that took place over the weekend. The Buffalo Police Department made the announcement on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 9:15pm on Saturday, June 15th, when officers from the South District responded to a call about shots fired at the intersection of South Park and W. Woodside avenues. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that the victim, a 31-year-old Buffalo man, had already been transported to Mercy Hospital by a private vehicle.


After a thorough investigation, the Buffalo police identified and apprehended the suspects on Wednesday. The father, 49-year-old Kwanza Battle, and his son, 25-year-old Kwanza Battle II, were taken into custody without incident.

Both individuals have been charged with second-degree attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
