A wrong-way collision on the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo resulted in the death of one driver and injuries to two others. Buffalo police reported on Tuesday morning that the driver of a Nissan Altima traveling in the wrong direction was declared dead at ECMC.
The incident occurred on Monday night when the 26-year-old driver of the Nissan Altima was heading east on the Kensington Expressway. Police reports indicate that the driver collided head-on with a westbound vehicle near the Grider Street exit around 9:30pm.
Police, fire and medical responded to the scene. Both drivers involved in the collision, as well as a passenger in the vehicle that was struck, were transported to ECMC for medical treatment. Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge stated in an email that the two occupants of the other vehicle are currently receiving treatment for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Nissan Altima, identified as 26-year-old Grant Beyer from Williamsville, was transported to ECMC by ambulance but was soon thereafter pronounced dead.
