
Tragedy struck on Monday afternoon after a fatal two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman, according to New York State Police. The incident occurred in the Town of Portville (Carraraugus County) and authorities provided details of the investigation on Tuesday.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2008 Dodge was traveling on State Route 417 when a 2014 Kia entered the intersection at Fischer Lan resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The impact of the crash proved fatal for the driver of the Kia, identified as 65-year-old Clemendina Gaylor from Portville, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene and the driver and a passenger in the Dodge were transported to Olean General Hospital for medical treatment. Both individuals are currently listed in stable condition.
