Niagara Falls Police responded to SAMs Club around 11:30am on July 30th after reports of an elderly woman who got angry over a handicap spot and keys another woman's car causing thousands in damage.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who stated she was waiting to pull into a handicap spot when an elderly driver began to argue with her. There was no rhyme or reason for the argument and it was not started by the complainant. It is unknown what set the elderly woman off to the point of screaming and swearing at the complainant.
Was it that she wanted the parking spot the complainant was pulling into? Did the elderly woman become upset because the complainant, a 22-year-old, was handicapped and going to use a spot that she was 'entitled' to park in? We will likely never know.
However, we do know that the elderly woman has a very colorful vocabulary when it comes to swearing.
The complainant parked and went inside SAMs Club for approx. 15 minutes. When she returned to her vehicle, the drive side doors and front quarter panel were keyed. Officers observed the damage which entailed deep marks into the paint of the complainant's vehicle. Estimated cost to repair is in excess of $2,000.
Officers are in the process of reviewing camera footage and the elderly woman is a suspect in the investigation. No further information is available.
