Drunk Male Hospitalized after Attacking Officers

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 600 block of 17th Street around 12:30am on December 15th after reports of a fight.

Upon arrival, all parties involved in the fight had already left the scene. Officers had returned to their vehicles and were preparing to leave when a male approached them. The official incident report stated that he was “stumbling and yelling obscenities.” He shouted to officers that “he’s going to fight you,” referring to himself.

Officers were attempting to calm him down when he suddenly became irate and began attacking officers.

Officers then engaged in use of force to subdue the male. As a result of injuries sustained during the altercation, AMR was called to the scene for the suspect. The male suspect was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. Once there, he was placed on MHL 22.09 for alcohol intoxication.

He was issued an appearance ticket at NFMMC for disorderly conduct. No further information is available at this time.
