Double the Giving: Saturday Donations Matched in Full at Niagara Salvation Army

This coming Saturday holds special significance for the Salvation Army in Niagara County. The organization will benefit from a matching scheme meant to drive greater contributions to the charity. As part of this program, every donation received on Saturday at the Red Kettle locations across the county will be matched in full, benefiting the Salvation Army in North Tonawanda, Lockport and Niagara Falls.

To contribute to the double-up initiative, locals are encouraged to donate at Red Kettles located in nearby Walmarts, Tops Friendly Markets and other designated spots.

Niagara Falls Salvation Army Major, Andrew Murray, highlighted the value of this arrangement, stating that every dollar received on this particular day would be doubled by the matching party.

Now in its second year, this 'double the donation' initiative is endorsed by the Salvation Army's regional headquarters, supervising activities in North Tonawanda, Lockport, Niagara Falls and additional areas in Western New York.

Donors will effectively double their donation on that day, turning $5 into $10, or $100 into $200, adding that the matching scheme is designed to motivate greater contributions on the specified day.
