A family in Wheatfield is frustrated after a group of individuals vandalized their elaborate Halloween decorations. The incident was captured on their home security camera.
The family, who invested nearly $5,000 in their festive display, is hoping for accountability for the several individuals who entered onto their property early Saturday morning while they were asleep. According to police, the video footage shows approximately five individuals trespassing onto the family's property, kicking and knocking over decorations.
Homeowner Billy Kerns expressed disbelief at the invasion of his personal space. The Kerns family has a long-standing tradition of decorating for Halloween and Christmas, for both their enjoyment and the community. However, this year has been different.
The vandals not only damaged decorations but also made off with part of the display including a beloved 12-foot skeleton whose skull is now missing. The Kerns family remains determined to continue their decorating tradition despite the recent vandalism. However, they admit that the incident has left them feeling disheartened.
