A gas leak has disrupted natural gas supply in several streets within the LaSalle neighborhood of Niagara Falls, NY, according to National Fuel.
The company disclosed that the incident, caused by a private contractor who accidentally damaged the main gas line, resulted in a significant service outage. The streets affected include Cayuga Drive, N. Military Road, Jacob Place, Bollier Avenue, and 85th, 86th, and 87th Streets. The company is yet to reveal when gas will be restored, noting that although safety has been secured, the gas supply had to be turned off to allow for necessary repairs. The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the outage, offering an overnight shelter equipped with cots and refreshments.
