In a game marked by frustration and desperation, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo resorted to unorthodox tactics in an attempt to disrupt Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen during a fourth-down play. As the Colts struggled to regain control in a 30-20 loss, Odeyingbo's actions on the field raised eyebrows and drew criticism. . . and probably a big fine.
During a crucial moment in the fourth quarter with the Bills pushing a pile forward, Odeyingbo was unable to punch the ball loose. Instead, he inexplicably swung at Allen multiple times landing punches that seemed more aimed at the quarterback than the football. The first punch struck Allen's chest, the second connected with his right arm, and by the third, which hit Allen's helmet, it was evident that Odeyingbo had abandoned any pretense of trying to dislodge the ball.

The "Peanut Punch," popularized by former cornerback Charles Tillman, is a well-known method for prying the ball from a ball carrier's grasp. However, it was clear Odeyingbo had a different goal in mind as he focused on the wrong target (i.e.: Josh Allen's head).
CBS commentator Tiki Barber noted the severity of Odeyingbo's action and suggested that the defensive end could face disciplinary action from the league.
"He'll be getting a letter," Barber remarked while reviewing the replay of the punches.
The loss marked the Colts' sixth consecutive defeat while the Bills won their fifth straight.
