Niagara Falls Police responded to Rite Aid on the 1000 block of Pine Avenue around 5pm on October 1st after reports of a customer dispute. This was later changed to menacing with a weapon. Dispatch advised officers that a Chinese female was threatening people in the store with a taser.
Upon arrival, officers observed a female matching the description walking westbound on the North side of the building. Officers stopped the female and she was detained. After a brief search, a taser was located on her person.
Officers went inside Rite Aid and interviewed an employee who stated that the female suspect was waiting in line at the pharmacy counter. While in line, she became upset with waiting and began to cause a scene yelling and screaming loudly. The employee asked her to stop causing a scene because she was alarming other patrons.
This was when the female suspect approached the employee with a taser in hand. She turned it on and threatened to tase her.
The employee wished to press charges as she was fearful for her physical safety. The female suspect was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. No further information is available at this time.
