Child Viciously Attacked by Two Pitfalls After Getting Off School Bus, Owners Arrested

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2200 block of Grand Avenue around 2:30pm on June 20th after reports that two loose Pitbulls attacked a child who had gotten off of the school bus.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the parent of the victim who stated around 12:30pm, after his son got off the bus and started walking home, he was suddenly attacked by two loose dogs which ran from a blue van. The dogs swarmed the male child who was knocked to the ground and bitten. The child sustained injuries to both legs. Medical was offered but his father requested to take the child to receive medical care himself.

Officers observed bites to both of the child’s knees that broke skin. The dog owners were on scene with their dogs. After a quick investigation, it was discovered both of the dogs were unlicensed, out of dates on their shots and at-large when the incident occurred. Both males were arrested and issued appearance tickets for “dog at-large” and “unlicensed dog.”
