Canadian Woman Bites Police Officer's Finger, Says She 'took shrooms'

Niagara Falls Police responded to Niagara Street around 6pm on July 22nd after a reported overdose that would later be changed to an assault.

Upon arrival, police observed a woman lying on the street “frantically flailing” as she appeared to be heavily under the influence of narcotics. Blood was visibly pouring out of her mouth and she had scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs.

Officers and members of the Niagara Falls Fire Department were attempting to calm the woman down until AMR arrived. She displayed rapid speech and hostile behavior. For her own safety, and that of others, officers attempted to gain control of her flailing limbs.

During the struggle, the woman bit a Lieutenant’s pinky finger and started chewing on it. Officers were ultimately able to place her in custody. Restrained, she was placed onto a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.

AMR transported the woman to a local hospital for medical treatment. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable at Niagara Falls City Court. Before being taken away by the ambulance, she told officers that “I'm from Canada and took shrooms.”
