Niagara Falls Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Quay Street around 9am on November 26th after reports of a burglary in progress.
While driving to the address, officers observed a white male matching the description of the suspect heading west down an alley. Officers were quickly able to apprehend and identify him.
While interviewing him, the male suspect was not making any sense and appeared to suffer some sort of mental illness. One of the officers then went to the victim’s home and spoke to the complainant. He told officers he was sitting in his house watching TV when he looked to the left and saw a white male (the suspect) standing in his kitchen.
The complainant then asked the male suspect how he got into his home, to which the suspect said he came in through the window. The complainant told him to leave and chased him out of the home. However, the male suspect had a prybar that the complainant took away from him.
The window the male suspect used to enter the home was damaged. The suspect was brought back to the victim’s home for identification. He was then transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. No further information is available at this time.
