Niagara Falls Police were performing a premises check of Hyde Park Golf Course around 12:15am on July 22nd due to a burglary the night before. While checking the property, officers observed a broken rear window where it appeared someone had entered the building.
Both officers entered the building through the window and checked the bar and restaurant areas to ensure there was no one inside. Once it was determined the area was secure, officers were able to observe that the entire area was in disarray.
An office door was pried open and the room ransacked. Several coolers behind the bar were open and it appeared that the suspect took bottled beer and alcohol. The owner stated that $3,500 cash was taken from several envelopes in the office, $200 worth of alcohol, and damage to the door/window was estimated at $2,000.
Officers were able to review surveillance footage of the incident. At 11:45pm on July 21st, a male suspect smashed the rear window and entered the property. Once inside, he makes his way to the locked office. He grabbed several pry bars located in the building and began forcing his way into the office through the door.
Once he made entry, the suspect began digging through the drawers and cabinets taking money and anything else of value. After a short time, the male left the same way he entered through the broken window.
The entire scene was photographed and processed. There are no known suspects at this time. No further information is available - Burglar Smashes Window, Steals $3,500 Cash, Beer and Liquor from Niagara Falls Golf Course Restaurant.
