Burglar Smashes Hole in Door to Gain Entry into Apartment

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1800 block of North Avenue around 1am on October 12th after reports of a burglary.

Upon arrival, officers were met by the complainant who stated that his apartment was broken into while he was at work. His father had called him while working and said that his apartment was broken into. Once he returned home from work, he observed a large hole in his front door and PlayStation 5 missing.

The complainant stated that no other belongings were missing but that it seemed odd nothing else was taken. He spoke with his neighbor who stated they heard a “loud thud” at approx. 10:30pm but didn’t think anything of it.

The PlayStation 5 is worth around $400 and estimated cost to replace the front door is $300. Officers observed a large hole in the front door. There were no cameras in the area that could have captured the incident. There are no known suspects. No further information is available at this time.
