According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills have signed veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million.
Valdes-Scantling has experience playing with top-tier quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, and he will now have the opportunity to catch passes from Josh Allen in Buffalo. Although he hasn't put up huge fantasy football numbers, Valdes-Scantling's speed gives him the potential for explosive performances. For those who play fantasy football, his production thus far suggests that he may be more valuable in real-life football than in fantasy.
Throughout his six-year NFL career, the 29-year-old has not surpassed 690 yards or six touchdowns in a single season. In the previous season, he had 21 receptions for 315 yards and one touchdown in 16 games.
Valdes-Scantling will be competing with Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel for playing time in 2024, with second-round rookie Keon Coleman expected to be a starter.
