Niagara Falls Police responded to Family Dollar on Portage Road around 11:30am on October 20th after reports of a shoplifter.
While en route, dispatch advised officers that a black male in a blue Buffalo Bills jersey had just stolen 2 shower curtains. Officers arrived at the location and immediately observed the male who had not made it far from the store. He was detained and brought back to Family Dollar for a show up where he was positively identified.
The employee stated she was walking into work around 10am when she observed the male walking out of the store with two shower curtains. The alarm system activated which indicated that the items were not paid for. The male passed all points of purchase without paying.
A trespass notice was executed. He was released with an appearance ticket. No further information is available at this time.
