The Buffalo Bills have released veteran running back Leonard Fournette from their practice squad, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Fournette joined the team on October 30th and his addition was aimed at bolstering depth behind running backs James Cook and Latavius Murray. Bills coach Sean McDermott, who didn't disclose the reasons behind Fournette's release, appreciated the player's contribution and wished him well.
Fournette's hopes for a second Super Bowl ring, following his previous win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now appear squashed as the Bills continue their playoff campaign without him.
